ZERO WASTE COFFEE SHOP HACKS
Going zero waste can seem impossible, but with these hacks, your morning coffee routine can be a little more eco friendly!
1. Invest in a reusable mug
This seems like a no-brainer, but bringing your own mug or tumbler can significantly reduce waste. And as a bonus, many coffee shops offer a discount for bringing your own mug. Starbucks offers a 10% discount for a reusable cup!
2. Get a container or reusable bag for pastries/food
Bringing a metal container or reusable bag are great options if you like to have a pastry with your morning coffee.
3. Metal straws are a must
If you are an iced coffee drinker, having a metal straw is essential. Easy to clean and great for the planet, metal straws significantly reduce harmful plastic waste.
4. Ask for no receipt or a printed reciept
Many coffee shops can email receipts, but unless you absolutely need a receipt for your records, ask them to refrain from printing you one!
5. Bring your own reusable napkin
Most of us are guilty of grabbing way more napkins than we need at cafes, restaurants, etc. Try a reusable hand towel instead!
